Global and local economies constantly undergo changes because of many reasons including changing business concerns and needs and development in new technologies. To sustain, organisations need to respond to changes. They also need to place demands on their workforce in order for the workforce to adapt and to engage with relevant changes to positively affect bottom-line(s). All these mean trainers, learners and organisations need to keep a close watch on the trends in learning and development. This may cover engaging with emerging new organisational forms/structures, novel organisational situations/contexts, new learning orientations/perspectives, new learning concerns/needs/demands, availability of new learning technologies, etc.
